I posted last week that a long-sought for Roman camp has been found in Gernsheim, in the south of the state of Hessen. The dpa story was tantalising, but inevitably brief. The Echo has a much longer piece with many more details. Only one coin has been found so far, one of Domitian, which suggests a date of late in the first century for the camp. Animal remains and amphorae make the rest of the remains that are being talked about. The full story can be read here.
