It is occasionally difficult to keep extreme swearing out of blog posts. Thanks to Bristol University's spectacularly short-sighted scaling back of languages, Anne Simon, senior lecturer in medieval German, is facing redundancy.
A hugely respected scholar, her publications include: Sigmund Feyerabend's Das Reyssbuch dess heyligen Lands: A Study in Printing and Literary History (1998) and Festivals and Ceremonies. A Bibliography of Works Relating to Court, Civic and Religious Festivals in Europe, 1500-1800 (2000) (with Helen Watanabe-O'Kelly). She is currently completing a monograph on the Cult of Saint Katherine of Alexandria, Patronage and Empire in late-mediaeval Nuremberg.
