I mentioned last week the great blog devoted to current excavations by Durham County Council, the Department of Archaeology, Durham University and Department of Classics, Stanford University at the Roman site of Vinovium, Roman Binchester, near Durham. It is precisely what the medium of blogging is for. Friday's post was a real treat - an update on the best discoveries made at the site to date.
The highlight for me is some of the coins, especially top and bottom right. Both nummi from the House of Constantine and from the Trier mint. The images on the reverse can be seen on the website.
