Adrian Murdoch is a historian and journalist. Educated in Scotland and at The Queen's College, Oxford, he has lived in London, Glasgow, Berlin, Singapore and Frankfurt. He is the author of "Rome's Greatest Defeat: Massacre in the Teutoburg Forest", which was named one of the books of 2006 by the "Daily Telegraph"; "The Last Pagan", a biography of Julian the Apostate; and "The Last Roman", a biography of Romulus Augustulus, the final ruler of the Roman empire in the West. He is also the co-translator of a book of Latin and Greek erotic literature, "Emperors of Debauchery: The Dedalus Book of Roman Decadence". He is a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society.
